I thought it would be fun to add some book club related tablescapes and recipes to help with hosting your own book club parties.
The above image is from my book club meeting a week ago. We read and discussed Fall of Giants by Ken Follet and the hostess offered this cute and yummy fall treat.
You will need:
4-6 sliced apples – cut into wedges
- 1 bag chewy caramels
- 4 TBL butter (add more butter if you want it saucier)
- 1 14 oz can Condensed Milk
Place all ingredients in a saucepan and stir until caramels are melted.
Cut apples into wedges and skewer with lollipop or craft sticks. You may need to use something sharp to puncture the apple skin before inserting stick.
Place toppings in ramekins or small decorative bowls.
Toppings shown in image above:
- chopped peanuts
- Cinnamon chips (chocolate chip looking item, she found them on her grocery shelf)
- Fall colored sprinkles
- Heath bar pieces – can buy the bag of already crushed
There are endless items that could be used for toppings. Have your guests simply grab an apple skewer, dip in caramel, then in desired topping. Easy prep and fun to eat!
